Hits vs views

Q:

In reading our weekly report you emailed this morning, what is the difference between "Hits in the last 7 days" and "Views in the last 7 days". The Hits are significantly higher... was curious what it meant.

A:

We call the number of times each pet is seen in search results "hits" -- so that is just their thumbnail photo being seen. If someone clicks on it or otherwise views the pet's full page, that is a view.

Usually hits are much higher than views, except if the pet's direct link is say, shared on social media and viewed directly a lot that week!

Thank you!
