We evaluate each rescue and shelter application individually, and adjust the paperwork and reference requirements according to the type of organization. For example, we wouldn't ask for a faxed veterinary reference letter from a county police station who does animal control and has an adoption program. That is why we do not publish a precise list of what we require to be approved.
We do our best to make sure every account is a legitimate rescue organization, shelter, or government agency or veterinary office with a pet adoption program at the time of their application, that provides the needed veterinary care to their pets, and spays and neuters so as not to add to our overwhelming pet overpopulation crisis.
We do take every complaint very seriously. If you have any concerns about an account on Adopt-a-Pet.com, please don't hesitate to email [email protected] the reasons for your concern, along with a link to the organization on our website.
