Rehome is an online self-rehoming service for dog and cat owners in the U.S. and Canada.
Overview video:
How it works:
- A pet owner goes to rehome.adoptapet.com and clicks Get Started, or uses your shelter/rescue referral link. (Learn more about referring here.)
- The owner creates a Rehome account and pet profile using their email, phone, and their pet's information.
- The owner pays Rehome a small listing fee per pet. Referring shelters and rescues can provide owners in-need with a coupon code to discount the listing fee by 90%.
- The pet's profile is published on the www.AdoptaPet.com website, where the pet can be seen by local adopters.
- Potential adopters use Rehome's built-in adoption application to share their information safely with the pet owner.
- Pet owners review each application. Rehome provides tips to guide the adopter and owner safely through speaking on the phone, meeting in person, and both parties agree, adopting the pet.
- Pet profiles stay active for 30 days or until 20 adoption applications have been received for that pet. If fewer than 20 applications, owners can renew their pet's profile an unlimited amount of times by making a small edit to their pet's info, which makes it active for another 30 days.
Request your referral link & toolkit
Please contact us if you are interested in receiving a digital Rehome toolkit with your unique referral link and coupon code for your organization.
Using Rehome removes the shelter or rescue from any liability, responsibility, or effort outside of providing owners with the initial referral. The referring shelter or rescue is invisible to the adopter and owner after the initial sign up process.
